Fountain is a home rule municipality in El Paso County, Colorado. It has a population of 29,802 at the 2020 census, up 15.31% from the 2010 census. The Fountain-El Paso County area has many tourist attractions. Some of these attractions include: The Royal Gorge, The Garden of the Gods, and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

The Garden of the Gods

The Garden of the Gods is an area that is a short drive from Interstate 25. It features red and white sandstone bands that are dotted with green vegetation. The area was formed by geological uplift associated with the formation of Pikes Peak. Many visitors visit this area to see the natural beauty.

Admission to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings is not free. Adults pay $12 and children pay $7.50. Senior citizens pay $9. There are also discounted group rates for groups of 10 or more. Located in a scenic area, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings are worth a visit.

The town of Manitou Springs was once a health resort. During the 19th century, Manitou became a popular destination for vacationers. There were historic motels and Cliff Dwellings to explore.
