River Forest, Illinois is a suburban community located adjacent to the city of Chicago. The town has a population of 11,717. It is home to Concordia University Chicago and Dominican University. It is also closely linked to its larger neighbor, Oak Park.

RIVER FOREST ILLINOIS SPRING HOUSE WALK

The Spring House Walk is a tour that takes place each year in late April or early May through the historic homes in River Forest. The tour will educate visitors about the people and architects who commissioned these beautiful structures. During the tour, they’ll learn about the history and challenges that came with these residential endeavors.

This year’s house walk will be a hybrid event with parts taking place outside and inside local homes. It will start at 12:30 p.m. and run until 5 p.m. Admission is $35 for adults. Proceeds will benefit the River Forest Illinois Historical Society, which operates the Oak Park River Forest Museum.
